Bookkeeping to OCR Level 1

This combination of courses is designed for individuals who wish to gain bookkeeping skills to Level 1 of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).  There are both manual bookkeeping and computerised bookkeeping options to choose from. Sage accounting software is taught and used for the computerised bookkeeping units.

No previous knowledge of bookkeeping is necessary. However, where the computerised bookkeeping options are chosen, it is expected that students will have some prior experience of using computers, equivalent to that gained on our Computers for Beginners course. 

UNIT TITLES AND TYPES: 

QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE:

 It is possible to achieve a pass in any individual unit or combination of units. However, the requirements for any of the higher qualifications are shown in the table below. 

   Certificates are issued by OCR upon successful completion of any Unit.

DURATION

 Each Unit has a content of 10 hours*.  The training can be scheduled as full days, half days or sessions of 2 hours or longer, depending on the circumstances of the individual student.  

STRUCTURE

 The training is by a combination of personal instruction and flexi-study. This blended learning allows students maximum flexibility.

WHAT’S NEXT?

 OCR Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or OCR Level 2 Diploma in Accounting.

  * The part use of flexible training allows students to work at their own pace.  The course duration may therefore vary.
